Sunita is originally from Penang, Malaysia. She was a student here at St Christopher’s International Primary School for three years before moving off to a local school.
Sunita gained her teaching experience at St. Christopher’s International Primary School ten years ago as a volunteer and support teacher as well as an English as an Additional Language teacher for the Nursery classes. In September, 2014 she was hired as a full-time Nursery class teacher. Four years later, she moved on to teach Year One. She is an experienced teacher with a Degree in Education and a passion for the outdoors.
Sunita is married with one son, Dhaaryan.
Josephine was born and raised in Penang, Malaysia. She obtained her Diploma in Early Childhood Education from SEGI College Penang. She has also completed her Bachelor’s degree in Early Years Education at the University of Greenwich. She graduated with First Class Honours and was awarded “The International Collaborations Prize for Best Completing Student on an International Collaborative programme”.
Josephine loves teaching in the Early Years and is enjoying the fun of teaching in Reception. She is married to Bryan and they enjoy spending their time exploring different places with good coffee and food

Paul is from the United Kingdom and has a BSc in Psychology and Philosophy from Glamorgan University. He completed his PGCE in 2004 and worked as a primary teacher and senior leader in London for 13 years. Paul and his family moved to Penang in 2017 and it doesn’t look like he is leaving anytime soon! Paul has worked across all the key stages in the school, all of them equally enjoyable.
Paul and his family have really settled into their life in Malaysia. Both Paul’s children are SCIPS pupils and love being part of the school. Paul‘s other loves include cricket, jungle runs, cycling, football, and exploring new countries and cultures.
Alana is originally from Wales in the UK and is proudly half Welsh and half Kenyan. She speaks both Welsh and English fluently and is keen to learn a new language as part of her ongoing personal and professional development.
Alana has a deep love for the countryside and the seaside, where she enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. She is also passionate about travelling and loves exploring new places around the world.
She graduated from The University of the West of England in 2022 with a degree in Primary Education with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and has been teaching for the past three years. Alana finds teaching incredibly rewarding and is continually inspired by the curiosity and creativity of young learners.
Alana is a strong advocate for inclusion and she believes that every child should feel seen, valued, and supported in the classroom. She is especially looking forward to embracing the variety of cultures and traditions within the SCIPS community and learning from the rich diversity around her.
In her spare time, Alana enjoys reading, swimming, singing, and attending theatre performances – all of which bring her great joy and inspiration.
She is very excited to be joining the SCIPS family and looks forward to starting this exciting new adventure.
Sarasu is originally from Kedah, Malaysia. She has a Bachelor Degree of Arts in English and Literature from University of Malaya and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from University of Sunderland, UK. She has taught for two years at an International School in Brunei and has moved back to Penang and now is teaching at the wonderful St Christopher’s. She has many years of teaching experience and has taught children from the age of 4 years to 11 years.
In her free time, she enjoys doing yoga, reading books and cooking as well as spending time with her family! Sarasu is married to Raja and has two young adult children, Gisshara and Nidhis.
Rebecca is from Surrey, England. Her passions in History and English saw her first complete a BA History degree and then a PGCE in Primary Education. Most recently, Rebecca completed her Masters in ‘Childhood, Education and Youth Studies’. This is her 14th year teaching. The first part of her teaching career was spent in the U.K, teaching across Key Stage 2 and leading English, but in recent years, she has taught in Kuala Lumpur and Abu Dhabi.
Rebecca has two young daughters. Her greatest joy in life is travelling to far-flung places around the world, sampling the local cuisine and culture, with her family (their most recent travels were to the Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina). She has made both her girls avid readers so they can all curl up with a good book, a cup of tea and enjoy lazy afternoons together.
