Edith Vadivelu is a qualified and trained Early Years teacher. She has previously taught at the Good Shepherd International School (Kuala Lumpur) in the Foundation and Nursery age groups, then as Head teacher and pre-school teacher at the Methodist Kindergarten (Seremban). Later she relocated to Penang and began teaching at the Trinity Methodist Kindergarten in the Foundation and Nursery.
Edith is presently teaching Nursery at SCIPS, and has done so for a good number of years!
Joey is originally from Liverpool, England. She trained at Liverpool Hope University and has an honours degree in Primary Education and Disability Studies. Whilst at University, she won a scholarship to spend a semester studying and teaching in Durban, South Africa. It was here that she met her husband, Rudi and they have since welcomed two children, Nell and Remy. After teaching in the UK, Joey spent three years teaching in an International British school in Kuwait before eventually moving to work in an international school in Penang, First, she worked there as a teacher and EYFS leader before later becoming the Deputy Head teacher of the school. Joey fell in love with Penang the moment she arrived and now classes Penang as ‘home.’ Outside of school she enjoys fashion, reading educational papers and exploring all of the fabulous food that Penang has to offer! She is very excited to have the opportunity to work in a school as lovely as SCIPS.

Lily is from the South of England and after originally training as a Speech and Language Therapist, completing a bachelor of medical sciences degree at The University of Sheffield, she decided to follow her passion and retrain as a teacher. She studied for an Early Years PGCE at The University of Cambridge and has primarily taught EY and KS1 although she has taught all the way to year 6. Lily came to Malaysia in 2016 to teach at an international school in Kuala Lumpur where she was the Deputy Head of EY and KS1 for 3 years. Lily is joined in Penang by her husband Jon and their two young children, Heidi and Bernie. They are very much looking forward to getting to know the island and enjoying a different pace of life to that in KL!
Lianne is from Penang, Malaysia and has a degree in English and Mass Communication from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). This is her third time teaching at SCIPS having taught from 2000 to 2007 as a PE teacher and then in the Early Years department. She then went to teach at Brambletye School in the UK until 2011 where she worked as a Reception and Year 2 teacher. On her return to SCIPS in 2011 she taught Year 2 before taking time off to have her two children, Jake and Matilda, who are now students at SCIPS.
She enjoys sports, musicals, art and travel as well as spending time with her family!
Following a maternity role at SCIPS in 2017/18, Lianne is very excited to be returning to SCIPS as a Year 2 teacher.
Elaine is a Malaysian Eurasian of British descent. She was trained as an Early Years teacher under the Persatuan Tadika Malaysia (Malaysian Kindergarten Association) at University of Malaya and upon graduation, studied Principles of Early Childhood Education under the London Montessori Centre. She has many years of teaching experience and has taught children from the age of 2-1/2 years to 6 years.
She is married to Vincent and has two young adult sons, Jeremy and Christian.
