German
A special opportunity for Key Stage 2 children exists in the form of our German programme. SCIPs offers German lessons to children in Years 5 and 6 as part of their weekly studies. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn a Modern Foreign Language and comes at no extra cost. The programme provides cultural knowledge as well as basic vocabulary and communication skills in German.
Additionally, in association with the German School Association, German is offered as an after school lesson for every child with German as a first language. The German teacher ensures that pupils are still proficient in their own language and keep up with their oral, written and verbal skills. Children have access to a well-resourced library with materials oublished in German. Pupils experience small group activities and individual lessons which are designed to make learning secure and fun.
