St. Christopher's International Primary School
* Penang * Malaysia *
Assessment
Applicants are scheduled for an
assessment only after the application for admission is complete. All children
will be assessed in their appropriate year group (see Year Group Placement below). This includes children applying for
places in the E.S.L. Programme.
The nature of the assessment varies for different year groups and may require
meeting a member of the academic staff. This will also help ascertain whether a
child requires support for special needs or learning difficulties. As we may not
have the capability of meeting the needs of children with learning difficulties,
the School may have to deny admission. Other reasons an admission is denied may
include concerns about the child’s academic records and/or behavioral display.
Specific dates and time for assessment correspond with the Year group and the
term where admission is applied for.
Children are placed in year groups according to their age on first of September as follows:
Year Group |
Age as of 1st of September |
| Early Years | 3-5 years |
| Key Stage 1 | 5-7 years |
| Key Stage 2 | 7-11 years |
Malaysian Applicant
Any Malaysian parents who wish
their child(ren) to enter into Christopher's International Primary School, Penang must comply with the Ministry of Education's admission criteria. Parents
are requested to submit the completed
Lampiran1
and enclosed relevant documents for the Ministry's approval. The response
from the Ministry of Education may take several weeks and/or months. Once
the School and/or parents are notified of an approval letter from the Ministry
of Education, the child will be offered a place subject to availability.
Admission &
Registration
Where places are available (i.e. no.
of students per class has not exceeded the maximum capacity as per Policy),
admission of students into St Christopher's is subject to an initial assessment.
An offer of admission to the School is also based on the belief that a child
will benefit from the curriculum offered and that his/her admission will not
have a detrimental effect upon the education of existing students. It is
possible a child is accepted on conditional status.
The acceptance of the offer should be made
prior to the child’s commencement of school. The payment of the required
Registration Fee
constitutes the
acceptance of a place and therein
CONFIRM the place for the
child.
Where places are not available, applicants are placed on a waiting list for
admission. However, the School reserves the right to assign priorities for
admission or refuse admission for any reason it deems fit.
