Admission & Registration

Where places are available, admission of students into St Christopher's is subject to an initial student assessment. An offer of admission to the School is also based on the belief that a child will benefit from the curriculum offered and that his/her admission will not have a detrimental effect upon the education of existing students. It is possible that a child is accepted on conditional status, subject to the school's terms, conditions and admission policy.

Registration Fee

A non-refundable Registration Fee is required upon submission of an application.  Payment may be in Cash, Cheque or Banker’s Draft in Ringgit Malaysia (RM), or via Telegraphic Transfer. Pay to "THE ST. CHRISTOPHER'S SCHOOL ASSOCIATION". (Note : All Bank Charges including all beneficiary charges must be included in the payment. A copy of the transfer payment slip must be faxed to +604 2264340, otherwise payment is considered as not paid.)

An acceptance of the placement offer should be made prior to the child’s commencement of school. The payment of the required Registration Fee constitutes the acceptance of a place and therein CONFIRMS the place for the child.

Where places are not available, applicants are placed on a waiting list for admission.  However, the School reserves the right to assign priorities for admission or refuse admission for any reason it deems fit.

All the above is subject to the School's Terms of Admission

Assessment

Applicants are scheduled for an initial assessment only after the for admission (Blue Form) is complete. All children will be assessed for their appropriate year group (see Year Group Placement below). This includes children applying for places in the ESL Programme.

The nature of the assessment varies for different year groups and may require meeting a member of the academic staff. This will also help ascertain whether a child requires support for special needs or learning difficulties.

Specific dates and time for assessment correspond with the Year group and the term where admission is applied for. Children are placed in year groups according to their age on first of September as follows:

Year Group Age as of 1st of September
Early Years 3-5 years
Key Stage 1 5-7 years
Key Stage 2 7-11 years
