Our Early Years department comprises of
our Nursery (3- 4 year olds) and Reception (4 - 5 year olds) classes.
We aim to provide high quality,
integrated early education and make a positive contribution to children's early
development and learning. We ensure that our children have established solid
foundations on which they can build their future learning.
We provide a well planned and resourced
curriculum to take young children's learning forward and to provide
opportunities for all children to succeed in an atmosphere of care. We ensure
that all children feel included, valued and secure.
Our children are given opportunities to
learn through play. Well planned play is a key way in which young children learn
with enjoyment and challenge.
Our curriculum is carefully structured
and relevant to match the different levels of young children's needs and
abilities. Our activities are planned and purposeful to provide opportunities
for teaching and learning both indoors and outdoors.
Our Early Years program is about
developing key learning skills such as listening, speaking, concentration,
persistence and learning to work and cooperate with others. It is about
developing early communication, literacy and numeracy skills that will fully
prepare young children for Key Stage One of the British National Curriculum.
